We took a look at which way the Carolina Panthers could potentially go with their 2022 NFL Draft if Cam Newton stays in 2022.

The Carolina Panthers have Cam Newton back. Not a statement anyone realistically thought was possible before one of the most dramatic weeks in franchise history.

Newton is still beloved by the team’s fanbase and will be the unquestioned starter moving forward, starting in Week 11 against the Washington Football Team and former head coach Ron Rivera. An occasion that is sure to live long in the memory.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Panthers are preparing as if Sam Darnold won’t participate again this season thanks to a shoulder injury. Those in power are also going to give Newton the opportunity to become their starter in 2022 over the second half of the campaign.

What a turnaround.

Incredible.

Cam Newton could be the Carolina Panthers starting QB in 2022.

Newton still has the hunger and talent to make a substantial difference. His return has galvanized the Panthers and if things go according to plan a new contract will be in the offing despite Carolina guaranteeing Darnold’s fifth-year option at $18.58 million next season.

If this scenario comes to fruition, then it might alter the way Carolina goes about things in terms of recruitment. Newton solidifies the most important position on the field, so getting him as much help as possible will be key to their fortunes.

With this in mind and using The Draft Network’s mock machine, we took a look at which way the Panthers might go with their 2022 NFL Draft selections if Newton sticks around next season.
