Panthers full 7-round NFL mock draft if Cam Newton stays in 2022
By Dean Jones
Lewis Cine – S (Georgia)
Juston Burris is out of contract in 2022 and although he’s been playing at a high level this season, the Carolina Panthers have a lot of established players seeking new contracts next spring.
This would make it difficult for them to keep Burris around, all things considered. So finding a potential long-term partner for safety Jeremy Chinn in the 2022 NFL Draft would be beneficial.
Lewis Cine is part of a Georgia defense that is comfortably the best in college football right now. The Bulldogs look primed for a national championship and the athletic safety has played a substantial part during their all-conquering campaign so far.
Cine has eye-catching athleticism and is capable of coming down to assist in coverage. The player has exceptional reactions that allow him to get to the tackle quickly and is also extremely physical when it comes to supporting on running downs.
Finding the right angles can be a problem at times. Something that Cine needs to rectify before arriving at the next level.
If Cine can brush up on this and work on ways to impact proceedings more on the backend, then this would be a tremendous selection by the Panthers. One that would further aid Chinn’s progression in the process.
