Mitchell Agude – DE/OLB (UCLA)

Getting another dynamic edge rusher would be advantageous for the Carolina Panthers despite the quality currently at their disposal. Haason Reddick and Marquis Haynes are both on the lookout for new deals this offseason, but considering the organization hasn’t used the latter that much – even reportedly shopping him before the trade deadline – it’s unlikely the Ole Miss product is going to be extended.

The same does not apply to Reddick, who’s been one of the signings of the season. However, if the Panthers cannot reach an agreement with the player, then pass-rushing assistance from elsewhere will be prioritized more prominently than this.

That being said, Mitchell Agude comes with a ton of talent and represents a nice option at this juncture. The UCLA star burst onto the scene in 2020 with eight sacks in his first full season with the Bruins and has become a more well-rounded player in Year 2, increasing his tackling contribution in the process.

Perhaps Agude would be better suited to be a stand-up edge rusher at the next level thanks to his physique. He is also a little raw in terms of technique and overall experience.

However, if Carolina wants to bring him along slowly they have the luxury to do so providing Reddick and Frankie Luvu get new contracts.
