5 unsung heroes from Carolina Panthers win at the Cardinals in Week 10

Myles Hartsfield – Carolina Panthers DB
Hopefully, the injury suffered by Myles Hartsfield in the second half isn’t serious. The defensive back has hit the ground running since returning to the lineup and he provided real energy at the Arizona Cardinals before being forced to the sidelines.
Hartsfield was one of the big surprises last season after emerging from an undrafted free agent to a prominent member of the rotation. Even with a number of high-quality additions to the defense this offseason, the Ole Miss product remained a part of the Carolina Panthers’ plans moving forward.
Much like many on this list, Hartsfield’s efforts are perhaps overshadowed by the bigger names. But that does not detract from what a key component the player is rapidly becoming.
The second-year-pro sees time both at the safety position and is also making a difference in coverage from the slot. Versatility that obviously made the Panthers keen to bring him on board when the 2021 NFL Draft came to a conclusion.
Hartsfield’s hand problem that ruled him out is something to monitor. But even if the player does miss a game or two, Carolina now has Juston Burris back to strengthen the backend.
Strength in depth. The key to a prolific defense.
