4 things Cam Newton must do to secure a contract extension for 2022

Cam Newton must inspire confidence
Cam Newton’s production on the field is just a small part of what makes him special. The quarterback took the NFL by storm throughout the 2010s with elite playmaking ability that transformed the Carolina Panthers from also-rans to legitimate Super Bowl contenders and saw the player earn MVP honors in 2015.
Newton may not be the same force as he was back then.
But he doesn’t need to be.
Carolina’s defense is playing exceptional football and has been all season long. All they need is for the offensive side to play a complementary role and make turnovers count.
Something the Panthers managed to do at the Arizona Cardinals for the first time in a number of weeks.
It didn’t take long for Newton to get everybody believing again. He was seen motivating and on the sidelines, with teammates hanging on his every word despite him being back with the organization for three days prior to the contest.
Performing well personally is all well and good. But inspiring others around you separate the good players from the great.
If Newton can continue doing just this during the next seven games, then it would be wise for the Panthers to keep him around.
