Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE

It’s been quite a conundrum for the Carolina Panthers when it comes to getting production from the tight end position since Greg Olsen departed. The Pro Bowler was a huge part of the organization on and off the field, providing Cam Newton with a dependable presence across the middle and in the red zone during their team’s glory years in the 2010s.

Olsen is now in the FOX Sports booth. So it remains to be seen whether Newton is going to get anything like the same consistency from Carolina’s current options.

Everyone knows what Ian Thomas is at this point.

The same cannot be said of Tommy Tremble.

The third-round pick out of Notre Dame has all the physical attributes needed to be a complete tight end with a little more refinement. His route-running needs to be more convincing, but the athleticism is where it needs to be.

Having Newton as the starting quarterback could open up additional space for Tremble. Gaining the quarterback’s trust right out of the gate will ultimately determine how heavily he’ll be involved over the next seven games.

Newton and Olsen will go down as one of the best offensive connections in franchise history. Although it’s unlikely Tremble will reach such heights, there’s nothing to suggest he cannot benefit from the signal-caller’s dramatic return.
