4 reasons why Cam Newton can lead Carolina Panthers to the playoffs
Cam Newton can rely on an elite defense
The Carolina Panthers’ defense has been nothing less than elite all season.
They’ve given the offense multiple times to score and they would either get three points or no points at all. With Cam Newton now at the helm and the potential to make better use of any turnovers that come their way, his team can be a competitor.
The defense is consistently stopping offenses in the run and pass game. They get turnovers, three and outs, and limit production with fast and physical football.
The more opportunities for the offense, the more chance Newton has of making a difference under center.
Getting short fields is also a high possibility and something that can benefit Newton and the scheme Carolina wants to run moving forward. This makes life easier for the 2015 NFL MVP and his offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
The possibilities are endless for this team. If Phil Snow’s outstanding unit can continue making a significant splash no matter the standard of opposition, the sky is the limit.
Newton will also need to come up with the goods when it matters most. But there is hope he can do just that after Sam Darnold proved incapable following his trade from the New York Jets.
