Tre Turner – WR (Virginia Tech)

Again, the Carolina Panthers aren’t desperate for help at the wide receiver position – especially if Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith make strides this offseason.

However, a successful team cannot have too many weapons in the passing game. So once other positional groups have been strengthened, acquiring a wideout in the mid-to-late rounds wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

Tre Turner ticks all the boxes in terms of size, speed, and ball skills. His production at Virginia Tech has been encouraging and providing there isn’t much in the way of pressure on his shoulders early on, the wideout could go on to have a successful pro career.

Turner has the necessary size to provide a wide catch radius and his route-running is smooth. The prospect is a threat all over the field and is excelling on deep routes during his final college campaign.

One problem that Turner needs to resolve is ball security. He has fumbled the ball a little too often throughout his college career, which won’t fly at the next level.

The player also needs to develop a more comprehensive route tree and bulk up somewhat to cope with the rigors of contributing week-to-week in the NFL.

There is a lot of work to do for Turner, but someone could have a real talent on their hands if everything clicks into place in terms of development.
