Which Washington Football Team players must the Carolina Panthers keep quiet in Week 11 to try and keep their momentum going?

The return of Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera was always going to be a storyline in this game. But little did we know until a week ago that Cam Newton would also be a part of the story, as a member of the Carolina Panthers.

Washington is coming off a huge win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Panthers are riding high from their own strong victory over the Arizona Cardinals but the biggest headline of this game will be the return of  Newton against Rivera.

Signed a week ago to replace the injured Sam Darnold, Newton didn’t start his first game back against Arizona on the road but still made history by scoring a rushing touchdown and passing touchdown on each of his first two plays.

Ron Rivera knows Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers well.

Carolina had an obvious energy boost with the presence of Newton and there is finally some hope for the team this season. However, Rivera will certainly want to do his best to end that in his own revenge game.

Washington lost star defensive end Chase Young to a torn ACL last week, which will be a huge blow. But with Newton likely getting the start this week, Rivera is the one guy who would know how to stop him.

The NFC East team has been awful defensively this year and they’ve been riding with former Panther Taylor Heinicke at quarterback after the Week 1 loss of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Carolina should not underestimate them, however, as they’re still upset-minded and can be a tough play if not taken seriously.

With that said, here are five players Carolina does need to take seriously and keep quiet.
