Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers QB

While we may see some of P.J. Walker on Sunday, head coach Matt Rhule told reporters that Cam Newton will be the starter against the Washington Football Team.

In very limited action at the Arizona Cardinals, Newton put up more than 11 fantasy points by gaining 22 total yards and two touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how much the veteran quarterback will be asked to do given his limited time in Joe Brady’s offense, although a full week of practice should help his cause.

Start or Sit?

START.

When asked how much of the Carolina Panthers offense he knew after the win against Arizona, Newton told reporters “two touchdowns worth.”

With a full week of preparation, Newton should be able to produce against a Washington team that is 30th in passing yards allowed per game and 32nd in points allowed to quarterbacks in fantasy.

Ron Rivera will know more about Newton than most. But stopping the player in such an electric atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium is another matter entirely.
