Donte Jackson – Carolina Panthers CB

It was a horrendous day for Donte Jackson.

The cornerback has had a solid season all year. However, Sunday’s game against his former coach, Ron Rivera brought back many memories of all the struggles he had during his first two years in the NFL.

Jackson lined up against Washington receiver Terry McLaurin and was torched.

McLaurin hauled in 30 and 39-yard passes from Taylor Heinicke in the first half, helping Washington move the chains in a big way. There was also an opportunity for another long reception that the former Ohio State star just missed holding onto.

Then, when Jackson moved to cover receiver Deandre Carter, Heinicke connected with him for a four-yard touchdown that ultimately gave Washington the lead.

Jackson even went to the injury at one point he was so banged up and gave away a penalty to further compound the cornerback’s misery.

Football is a complete team sport but Jackson’s performance puts a lot of the blame on him in this one. However, it’s worth remembering that the former second-round pick has been in tremendous form all season before this one.
