4 silver linings from Carolina Panthers’ defeat vs. Washington in Week 11

Carolina Panthers got solid production from Brady Christensen at LT
When Dennis Daley was forced out of the game with yet another injury, it was a chance for Brady Christensen to gain reps at a position in which he starred in college at BYU. The Carolina Panthers have been reluctant to utilize the third-round pick at left tackle during his rookie campaign, but the lineman did more than enough to potentially get a longer look in the coming weeks to potentially become the team’s undisputed starter at the position.
This was Christensen’s best game in a Panthers uniform.
Although not having Chase Young to deal with probably helped.
According to Pro Football Focus, Christensen was on the field for 26 pass-blocking snaps and didn’t concede either a sack or a quarterback pressure. This is a significant positive that also saw the first-year-pro emerge as Carolina’s highest-graded player with 81.1.
Daley’s status for Week 12 has yet to be determined. But the Panthers will never get a better opportunity to see what Christensen can do.
That’s why he should start at left tackle until the end of the season. Even if the Panthers get underperforming veteran Cam Erving back at some stage.
If Christensen excels, then Carolina has their 2022 blindside starter locked up and can focus their attention elsewhere early in the draft. Should he fail, then there is absolutely no question what priority No. 1 will be.
