John Miller vs. Anyone

Why mess with something that works?

The Carolina Panthers offensive line has struggled all season to absolutely no one’s surprise. But things seemed to finally become steady over the last two games.

A winning combination of Dennis Daley, Michael Jordan, Pat Elfein, Trent Scott, and Taylor Moton gave up zero sacks against one of the better sack-producing teams in the league during Week 10 and what does the coaching staff decide to do? Pull Scott for the walking nightmare that is John Miller.

If that sounds like a bad idea, look no further for proof than the game-sealing sack where Miller was beaten so badly that Cam Newton had nowhere to run and no time to even consider making a read.

That is unacceptable and Miller does not deserve to start for this team.

It’s as simple as that.

The time has long since passed to relegate the disappointing guard to backup duty and give someone else a shot to take the lead. Someone like, I don’t know, Scott.

I’m not saying that Miller is the only reason that the Panthers lost in Week 11, but I’m also not saying that he didn’t play a large part.

I could go in-depth and look at whoever Miller may be lined up against, but at this point does it really matter?
