5 bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers at Dolphins in Week 12
By Dean Jones
D.J. Moore will go over 100 receiving yards
This might not have been a bold prediction earlier in the season. However, considering D.J. Moore hasn’t hit the 100-yard receiving mark since Week 4 at the Dallas Cowboys and the former first-round pick will be up against one of the league’s best cornerbacks in Week 12.
Moore has all the talent in the world, but he was one of many Carolina Panthers players that were severely impacted by Sam Darnold’s alarming regression that culminated in a disastrous Week 9 performance and Cam Newton’s return.
Hopefully, this move will see the Maryland product return to the form of old. Moore has nine receptions for 74 receiving yards and one touchdown over the last two contests, which is a solid foundation from which to build this weekend against Xavien Howard.
Although Howard may not have reached the lofty heights of 2020 that saw him earn All-Pro honors, he’s still performing at an extremely high level.
It wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world to see him shadow Moore prominently in this one. Especially considering how much Robby Anderson has struggled to make much of an impact so far after a fantastic first season with the franchise.
If Moore wants to enter the truly elite discussion, these are the games he needs to excel. Even though it will be difficult, the 2018 first-round pick has the tools to get the job done.
