5 most important Panthers players at the Dolphins in Week 12
By Dean Jones
Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers QB
Although it was a highly encouraging starting return for Cam Newton against the Washington Football Team, the Carolina Panthers need more from their quarterback moving forward. This should be achievable with another week to learn Joe Brady’s scheme, which should see things open up from a play-calling standpoint at the Miami Dolphins as a result.
This is good news for the Panthers. Newton has brought the organization back to life with his mere presence and at least from the outside looking in, there is a completely different mindset within the locker room.
The former NFP MVP and Heisman Trophy winner is backing this up with outstanding production on the field. Newton’s been careful with the football, made good plays when it matters, and leads by example.
Newton has had a great deal of success against the Dolphins throughout his career. In four games, he’s contributed eight combined touchdowns to just one interception and a fumble – but that counts for nothing unless the signal-caller cannot extend this exceptional standard in Week 12.
Heavy lies the crown.
But Newton has proven on countless occasions he can come up with the goods when his team needs him the most.
