Buffalo Bills

There is an obvious connection between the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills. Sean McDermott spent time as the team’s defensive coordinator before being offered a top job and he’s not been shy about taking some of his former players to the AFC to boost their cause – something that’s gone well so far.

The Bills have just $12.87 million in salary-cap space next season currently. Although that will probably change once sacrifices are made to other parts of the roster.

Adding Donte Jackson could be exactly what Buffalo’s promising defense needs to get over the hump. And nobody will know more about maximizing his potential than McDermott.

Jackson would probably jump at the chance to join a contender and his transition should be smooth considering he’s worked within a similar scheme before.

The Panthers have a huge decision to make regarding Jackson. Much will obviously depend on the money wanted by the player’s representatives, but one would be hard-pressed to find an extortionate amount with so many key men looking for extensions.

If Jackson ends up seeking alternative employment, then the Bills might be at the front of the queue. An opportunity that could work well for the player and the organization.
