5 Carolina Panthers players who need a change of scenery in 2022
By Dean Jones
Which Carolina Panthers players could do with a change of scenery once the 2021 season comes to a conclusion?
The Carolina Panthers are currently at a crossroads. Not only regarding their hopes in 2021 but when it comes to their long-term planning to get the organization back into legitimate contention.
There have been some really encouraging signs at certain points. But there are multiple problems areas that constantly hold the Panthers back and unless those in power come up with the right solutions, they’re only going to get so far.
If the last offseason was important, this upcoming one in 2022 might be even more so. Carolina has multiple key men looking for new deals and they are also without a Day 2 pick in the draft unless general manager Scott Fitterer acquires this by trading down in the first round.
Without further ado, here are five Panthers players who could use a change of scenery next season.
Player No. 1
Matt Paradis – Carolina Panthers C
Considering what the Panthers shelled out to prise Matt Paradis from the Denver Broncos in free agency, his production cannot be looked at with anything other than disappointment. However, the center hasn’t been done any favors by the organization with a distinct lack of reliability alongside him on the interior.
Carolina’s offensive line is a mess, especially when it comes to protecting the quarterback. Paradis is facing a period of rehabilitation after tearing his ACL against the New England Patriots and is also out of contract this spring, which could be the best possible solution for all parties involved.
Paradis would no doubt welcome a fresh start elsewhere. Perhaps on a team that has better players and with a more likely chance of contending.
