3 critical factors behind Joe Brady’s demise with the Carolina Panthers

Joe Brady and Matt Rhule weren’t on the same page
Matt Rhule hand-picked Joe Brady to be his offensive coordinator when agreeing to become head coach of the Carolina Panthers. It was seen as a shrewd move at the time, but now the wheels have come completely off and the man-in-charge has decided to turn the offensive coordinator into a sacrificial lamb in favor of a potentially more reliable option who’ll toe the line.
Rhule and Brady weren’t on the same page. The former Baylor man declared he wanted the Panthers to become a run-first team, something that didn’t really come to fruition more often than not.
Of course, it’s hard to be a running team when you’re playing from behind which the Panthers have been doing a bunch of lately. But there was clearly something amiss between the two coaches and Rhule was seen arguing into his headset during an offensive drive at the Miami Dolphins that led many to speculate Brady was feeling his wrath.
Judging by this latest turn of events, that’s now highly likely.
Considering how Carolina performed over their final two outings leading up to the bye, something big was bound to go down. Even if the timing appears somewhat bizarre with the team getting back down to business tomorrow.
This is yet another personnel move that hasn’t gone the way Rhule wanted. If nothing else, it piles additional pressure on the coach heading into a brutal run of fixtures down the stretch.
