Carolina Panthers 2022 NFL mock draft after Championship Saturday

Carolina Panthers pick No. 62
Jamaree Salyer – OL (Georgia)
Although the Georgia Bulldogs were unable to claim the SEC Championship following defeat to Alabama, they’ve still got a lively chance in the college football playoffs. Their defense may have taken more of the headlines in 2021, but the team also has some NFL-caliber players on the offensive side of the ball that will command some significant interest during the evaluation process.
As stated previously, the Carolina Panthers are desperate for a makeover on their offensive line. A key positional group that’s been ignored for far too long.
Not they have a second-round selection, it would be prudent to further boost this unit and a prospect like Jamaree Salyer could come into the equation. The left tackle is a premier edge protector with the technique to match, although many analysts expect the lineman to switch onto the interior when he gets to the next level.
This potential switch comes down to Salyer’s length and body positioning, which could get exposed against speedier NFL edge rushers. However, the Panthers value versatility in almost all their new college recruits, and this is something the player has in abundance.
Adding Salyer to Carolina’s interior protection alongside Kenyon Green might be a little raw in terms of experience. But the long-term upside is there for all to see.
