Carolina Panthers pick No. 94

Rasheed Walker – OT (Penn State)

Another offensive lineman, why not?

Finding a long-term left tackle has been a constant problem for the Carolina Panthers since Jordan Gross retired. Multiple players tried and failed to fill the void, with the free-agent addition of Cam Erving going pretty much as everybody expected considering how much the former first-round pick’s struggled throughout his NFL career so far.

There is a couple of big fish to potentially land in free agency. But the Panthers might want to save their money and select a talented prospect such as Rasheed Walker, instead.

Walker is a multi-year starter on the blindside at Penn State and has everything one looks for in a productive left tackle at the next level. He is a supreme physical specimen that possesses eye-catching fluidity and technique, with his surprising power to dominate opponents something else that further boosts his chances at the pro level.

One area that Walker must get better in the pros is from a technical standpoint. There is still some hesitancy when it comes to setting his frame correctly, but these are things that can be coached up by Carolina’s staff – whoever they may be next spring.

Again, there is a chance Walker goes higher than Round 3. He is going to test well at the NFL Scouting Combine, which is going to boost his stock further after a solid 2021 campaign overall.
