Carolina Panthers at Buffalo Bills

One could make an argument that the Carolina Panthers actually perform better when they are the underdog against opposition with legitimate Super Bowl hopes. However, this is the worst time of the year to be traveling to the Buffalo Bills and something that’s probably filling the team’s fanbase with considerable dread.

Former Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott has done a fine job in Buffalo so far. But considering how large expectations were surrounding this roster in 2021, it’s been a campaign of underachievement despite the obvious positives.

The Bills face a real fight on their hands to retain their AFC East crown thanks to the recent resurgence of the New England Patriots. But there won’t be a team in the conference that wants to see them in the first round of the postseason.

Josh Allen is still an elite talent and they’ve got weapons all over the field on both sides of the football. The Panthers have some notable scalps on the road this season, but it would be a real shock if they came away with similar accomplishments in this one.

Prediction: Carolina Panthers lose

Nobody will be expecting miracles in this one. What’s important is the team shows enough fight to not get embarrassed against one of the league’s most complete rosters capable of going to the Super Bowl in 2021.
