Which Carolina Panthers players have emerged as the team’s top performers during an eventful 2021 season so far?
Whether or not the Carolina Panthers can salvage anything from their 2021 season has yet to be determined. But the fact they find themselves in with a shout of reaching the playoffs is remarkable considering how much the team has struggled on occasions.
Two disastrous losses to conclude their pre-bye week schedule might come back to haunt them. An unacceptable turn of events that saw offensive coordinator Joe Brady fired and pressure increase significantly on head coach Matt Rhule in just his second season in the role.
The same problems keep coming up, which is concerning. The Panthers also need to figure out just what they are doing at quarterback and the offensive line – two positional groups that are clearly holding the team back at this precise moment.
However, it hasn’t been all bad. With this in mind, we power ranked the top-10 Panthers players in terms of performance during the current campaign to date.
Number 10
Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers OLB
Considering what was expected of Frankie Luvu before he stepped onto the field for the Panthers, his production from a rotational role has been superb. The outside linebacker’s boundless energy and exceptional instincts have brought some highlight-reel plays at key moments for Phil Snow’s defense, who remain one of the league’s best despite a downturn in production in their two contests before the bye.
Luvu can be enormously proud of his efforts this season. If the Panthers had any sense, they’d keep him around beyond 2021 if the money is acceptable for both parties.
Simply put, Luvu is a difference-maker on defense and special teams. He is also one of Carolina’s few success stories from their offseason recruitment.
