4 players the Carolina Panthers should have retained this offseason

Which Carolina Panthers players should the team have retained in hindsight during the 2021 offseason?
This is the time of year when unsuccessful teams are looking back on their decisions made during the offseason and wondering what they could have done differently. The Carolina Panthers might be miraculously still in the playoff hunt, but it’s hard to examine their campaign to date with anything other than disappointment.
The Panthers couldn’t make the most of an easy early schedule. They also lost two crucial contests to the Washington Football Team and Miami Dolphins before the bye that firmly exposed the flaws across the roster.
Matt Rhule is on the hot seat, according to many. And the biggest sign of this so far was the head coach firing offensive coordinator Joe Brady on Sunday.
Brady and Rhule clearly had a clash in styles when it came to ethos on offense. Whether long-time loyalist Jeff Nixon can galvanize things with little time available to implement any changes is another matter entirely.
The upcoming offseason is an important one for the Panthers. Some decisions are currently clear as day, with others set to be determined over the final five games of 2021.
Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing to have in the NFL. And looking back on life, in general, is never a good thing.
With this in mind, here are four players the Panthers should have retained last spring.
