Sean Chandler – Carolina Panthers S

Time is running out for Sean Chandler to convince the Carolina Panthers he is worth keeping around beyond this season. The safety deserves tremendous credit for fighting his way onto the rotation in training camp and considering the expectations surrounding the Temple product before the campaign, his production has been largely encouraging overall.

There are some lapses in concentration when it comes to key areas such as coverage and awareness. But in fairness to Chandler, he’s not the worst player on the backend by any stretch of the imagination.

That being said, his future with the team remains in the balance despite his strong previous relationship with Matt Rhule from their time together in college. What comes next down the stretch will determine whether the Panthers extend Chandler or cut him loose.

This isn’t Chandler’s first rodeo. He’s been around the block since entering the league so will be fully aware of the consequences of any future poor performances after the bye.

Chandler should get the chance fr meaningful reps at some stage. The Panthers are rotating their secondary plenty this season and the veteran has been one of the main beneficiaries with 45 tackles from 67 percent of Carolina’s defensive snaps.
