Derrick Brown secures 2+ tackles for loss

Some criticism has come Derrick Brown’s way over the last couple of weeks. The defensive tackle has been solid if not spectacular during his second season with the Carolina Panthers, but fans are expecting the No. 7 overall selection in 2021 to make more of an impression considering where the team drafted him.

Brown is still learning his craft and what it takes to be a top interior lineman at the next level. Perhaps the next step for him is showing out against the likes of Zach Martin – something he was unable to achieve this season.

Carolina needs to make things extremely uncomfortable for quarterback Matt Ryan and limit emerging offensive weapon Cordarrelle Patterson to stand any chance of attaining success. Brown is going to play a big part in this and the spotlight will be on the Auburn product more than ever considering his level of production in the two games prior to the bye.

This is a challenge for Brown.

The first time he’s faced any real adversity.

Although the lineman has just four tackles for loss this season, our next bold prediction is Brown increasing this total by 50 percent with two or more behind the line of scrimmage against the Atlanta Falcons at Bank of America Stadium.
