C.J. Stroud – Ohio State

Although it wasn’t the end C.J. Stroud had in mind this season, the quarterback can look back on his first campaign under center for Ohio State with a great sense of pride. The signal-caller was handed the keys to the kingdom in 2021 and to say he’s thrived in a starting role would be a massive understatement.

There were times when Stroud looked like a seasoned veteran beyond his years. He has a rare ability to create significant yardage at the drop of a hat, remaining composed in the pocket and providing a velocity on his throws that’s eye-catching, to say the least.

Stroud completed 70.9 percent of his passes for the Buckeyes en route to 3,862 yards, 38 touchdowns, five interceptions, and a passer efficiency rating of 182.2. The signal-caller hasn’t made many plays carrying the football, but his smoothness in the pocket really stands out and is something that can only get better over time.

Next season is obviously an important one for Stroud. Another strong year could see the player become a top-five selection in 2023 and perhaps even throw his name in the hat for the No. 1 overall selection.

If the Carolina Panthers are still looking for a potential future option by this point, then they could do far worse than taking Stroud if given the opportunity.
