Bryce Young – Alabama

After an exceptional showing in the SEC Championship game, Bryce Young has emerged as the Heisman Trophy favorite and many analysts now have the quarterback projected to go No. 1 overall in 2023 unless something drastic happens next season.

This isn’t impossible – one only has to look at the situation regarding Spencer Rattler to see that – but all signs point to Young continuing his outstanding production after proving he belongs during his opening year under center for Alabama.

One of the biggest selling points for the Crimson Tide in terms of recruitment is the fact Nick Saban gets his college players ready for the NFL. Alabama’s become a conveyor belt for signal-callers at the next level, with Mac Jones, Tua Tagovailoa, and Jalen Hurts all making their mark across the league in 2021.

Young might be next on the list. He certainly has the accuracy, arm strength, and mobility to be a hugely successful player in the pros.

His decimation of Georgia to secure the No. 1 seed in the college football playoffs demonstrated that Young can handle the big occasion with aplomb. There is still some growing to do, but almost every NFL team will be looking closely at how he develops his exceptional skill set in the coming months.

The Carolina Panthers are one such organization. But whether they’d be in a position to select Young if the prospect shows further promise remains to be seen.
