2 winners and 2 losers from Panthers loss vs. the Falcons in Week 14

Derrick Brown – Carolina Panthers DT
As a sophomore in the NFL, Derrick Brown hasn’t yet taken the big leap that many were expecting on the Carolina Panthers defense.
Brown has been beaten by opposing offensive lines multiple times this season and fortunately, has had his mishaps overshadowed by some of the strong defensive play that Carolina has put together this year.
On Sunday, Brown put his name back in the headlines with his best game of the season, racking up two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, and four total tackles.
It was Brown’s first game of the season with multiple tackles for loss and quarterback hits. Which is the best way to bounce back from his recent benching to start the game at the Miami Dolphins.
Brown has all the ability and size in the world to be an impact player. But the sacks and numbers haven’t fully come to fruition just yet. Although it’s worth remembering he is one of the most double-teamed players at the position anywhere in the league despite the increased talent around the lineman.
His performance against the Atlanta Falcons should give Brown some confidence entering the final few weeks of the season. Hopefully, this is a trend that should continue down the stretch.
