Carolina Panthers’ turnovers in key moments

Talking big about executing well is one thing. Actually putting it all together is another matter entirely and another area where the Carolina Panthers are constantly coming up short.

There were some nice moments. Most notably the two scoring drives at the start of each half. But when the Panthers needed to make gains during the remainder of the contest, they failed to deliver thanks in no small part to turnovers.

Cam Newton threw a pick-six and also gave up a fumble after tripping over Pat Elflein’s foot. Backup quarterback P.J. Walker also threw an interception of his own when relieving the No. 1 option.

It’s just sloppy all around. The Atlanta Falcons may have been caught out on a couple of occasions defensively, but one of the NFL’s worst units snuffed things out pretty quickly and the Panthers had absolutely no answers in terms of adjustments.

Again, what were they doing during the bye week?

Carolina isn’t being helped by the offensive line, who crumbled down the stretch once again. These are ongoing complications that have absolutely no chance of being fixed over the next four games.

What comes next this offseason is going to come with substantial ramifications. And just how significant these changes will be is dependent on how the Panthers get on over the next month.
