4 Carolina Panthers fighting for their futures down the 2021 stretch
By Dean Jones
Which Carolina Panthers are fighting for their respective futures with just four games remaining of the 2021 season?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth ride for anybody associated with the Carolina Panthers this season. An impressive start left many hoping a return to the playoffs might be on the cards for Matt Rhule’s men – only for things to completely spiral out of control thereafter during a 2-8 run that leaves far more questions than answers about the team’s aspirations.
All hopes of playoff football have now evaporated after the Panthers were comfortably beaten at home to the Atlanta Falcons. Some big changes could be afoot if things go how everyone expects during a brutal four-game stretch to end the campaign.
The finger-pointing has begun, Joe Brady has been fired as offensive coordinator, and morale is at an all-time low. Just where the Panthers go from here is uncertain, but we’ll find out a ton about the character within the locker room with nothing to play for other than pride.
This is the worst possible scenario for the Panthers after so much excitement surrounding the team this offseason. Another year languishing in mediocrity or perhaps even a top-five pick when it’s all said and done, which will only distance the fanbase further judging by how empty Bank of America Stadium became in Week 14 when things started going against Carolina.
With this in mind, here are four Panthers who are fighting for their futures down the 2021 stretch.
