Carolina Panthers lack cohesion

Although there were some nice moments against the Atlanta Falcons, it was another game ravaged by sloppy errors and a clear lack of cohesion on both sides of the football. Firing Joe Brady as offensive coordinator was the latest desperate ploy to take the heat off Matt Rhule, which didn’t pay off despite coming up against one of the league’s worst defenses statistically.

Again, this comes down to preparation.

Rhule and his staff are clearly doing something wrong regarding their approach and haven’t shown the right nous to correct or adjust during games. That’s not going to win many football games against other teams that are capable of punishing almost every opportunity.

Once an opposing team figures out what the Carolina Panthers are doing from a scheme standpoint, they seize the initiative more often than not. Something that was there for all to see once again against the Falcons during a defeat that extinguished any slim hopes of Carolina reaching the postseason.

This stuff doesn’t go unnoticed by the players. Cohesiveness is the minimum requirement for any successful NFL team – something the Panthers don’t have and that is a major problem in Year 2 of Rhule’s tenure.

Nothing looks like changing no matter what personnel the Panthers utilize. And that’s on coaching.
