Carolina Panthers must show heart

Losing happens. That’s the nature of the beast and especially this season when shocks are happening on a weekly basis across the league.

However, what fans cannot stand are the players they support not showing the necessary fight when things aren’t going their way.

The Carolina Panthers have endured a lot of heartache and turmoil throughout another rollercoaster campaign. But not giving maximum effort is simply not an option for those who pay their hard-earned money to watch them on TV and in the stands.

Just go down swinging.

Show some heart.

If the Panthers aren’t good enough, so be it. There’s been enough evidence to suggest they’ll come up short against some high-quality opposition down the stretch.

Showing the right desire would at least provide some comfort that the Panthers have strong characters within the locker room, even if big-time reinforcements are needed.

The temptation to turn it in and avoid injury ahead of the offseason is there now Carolina is all but out of playoff contention. Even if this sort of attitude doesn’t fly in the real world, it comes up a bunch in professional sports.

This shouldn’t be tolerated by teammates or the coaching staff. Although just how much sway Matt Rhule still has on the roster given recent complications is up for debate.
