Matt Rhule’s era is being defined by indecisiveness

Matt Rhule’s questionable personnel decisions
The entire front office of the Carolina Panthers made a series of moves this calendar year synonymous with a team that doesn’t have a true direction.
When Matt Rhule was initially hired, fans were sold on the idea of a long-term rebuild. The core of the team that once went 15-1 and appeared in the Super Bowl was aging. Pairing a new head coach with a legitimate youth movement was a plan that made obvious sense at the time.
Unfortunately, the organization made a very weak effort in sticking with this plan.
One of the most important aspects of any youth movement is to stockpile assets, especially draft picks. Under Rhule, the Panthers have done the exact opposite.
Carolina spent meaningful assets on Sam Darnold, who quickly crashed back down to earth after a promising first month in Carolina. The Panthers then gave up their other Day 2 selection on former first-round pick CJ Henderson, who’s having a difficult time staying on the field thus far.
The Panthers currently have a roster littered with holes, and they don’t have a single day two selection in the 2022 draft to show for because the team was looking for early shortcuts to their rebuild.
This frustrating theme of indecisiveness is painfully evident in weekly decisions relating to game management.
