P.J. Walker – Carolina Panthers QB

Matt Rhule is going forward with a two-quarterback approach in Week 15 at the Buffalo Bills and potentially beyond. The head coach doesn’t feel Cam Newton is ready for every situation, which is a telling indicator it might not have been the former Baylor man who wanted to bring the iconic figure back to the organization.

That means P.J. Walker could see some time on the field once again. Although judging by the signal-caller’s remarks during his Wednesday presser, he clearly isn’t the biggest fan of adopting this sort of method.

This might be another case of mismanagement at the most important position on the field, but the simple fact is it gives Walker a chance to impress that wouldn’t be available in normal circumstances.

The former XFL MVP candidate has been inconsistent at best in 2021, even though it’s not the easiest of situations coming off the bench more often than not and making an impact.

Walker has completed 54.5 percent of his passes this season for 362 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. It’s also worth noting that he is out of contract this spring and there is the situation regarding Newton and Sam Darnold to factor into the equation.

Rhule and Walker go a long way back from their time at Temple. But the jury is still out regarding his future in Carolina beyond this season.
