Carolina Panthers let Josh Allen throw over 1.5 TDs

There did appear to be some doubt regarding Josh Allen’s status for Week 15. But as it turned out, the quarterback was a full participant in Friday’s practice and the Buffalo Bills gave him no injury designation whatsoever for their game against the Carolina Panthers.

Allen came into the campaign as a leading NFL MVP candidate. Despite not reaching these heights, the former first-round pick has still accumulated 3,524 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a completion percentage of 65.8.

How the Panthers wish they had someone like Allen under center.

Their pass defense will be without long-term absentee Donte Jackson and A.J. Bouye, who was ruled out on Friday to deplete the team’s options further against a signal-caller who can put up big-time numbers in a hurry.

There should be a greater sense of urgency in Buffalo given they are still trying to secure postseason football and boost their seeding in the process. A win would also close the gap on the New England Patriots in the AFC East divisional title race following their loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night.

It’s going to be difficult for the Panthers.

A battle that they might not win when it’s all said and done no matter how hard they try.

Allen’s performance will go a long way to determining the outcome. Backing him to throw more than 1.5 touchdowns at -160 (bet $160 to win $100) seems like a probable outcome.
