5 major factors to blame for Carolina Panthers’ loss at the Bills in Week 15
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers didn’t have enough quality
Inferior coaching.
Inferior talent.
Inferior depth.
That’s the long and short of it, really.
The Carolina Panthers had their work cut out on the road against a team still fighting for their playoff lives. This sense of urgency didn’t necessarily come across in the first quarter, but once the Bills figured out what Matt Rhule and his staff were implementing, the tide turned accordingly.
Adjustments just aren’t being made in an effective fashion. But even if Rhule had somehow managed to correct this crucial element of his game-day contribution, the execution just wasn’t there for long periods.
Not enough quality to get the job done against a playoff contender. And the Panthers appear light years from being this right now.
Another losing season is not in the books – the fourth in succession since David Tepper bought the franchise from Jerry Richardson. Things clearly aren’t progressing as originally planned by the billionaire and Rhule as part of their master plan, so some big decisions are looming this offseason unless performances miraculously turn around in the coming weeks.
The marging for error in the pros when it comes to team building is slim. Carolina has made too many mistakes to be taken seriously and Rhule is finding that out the hard way almost every week to the team’s detriment.
There is much work to be done. Another dramatic offseason awaits.
