4 things that must be on Panthers Christmas wish list for 2022

Carolina Panthers get Jaycee Horn back at 100 percent
Jaycee Horn made an encouraging start to his professional career and certainly looked like a shutdown cornerback in the making before breaking his foot in Week 3 at the Houston Texans. It’s not worth the Carolina Panthers bringing the No. 8 overall selection back even if he was healthy, so getting him right for his sophomore campaign is something that could make a substantial difference.
The South Carolina product changed the mindset within the secondary right out of the gate.
Horn is an alpha that brings the best out of others around him. One only had to look at how opposing quarterbacks were reluctant to throw in his direction to see how highly the player is regarded in league circles.
Would things have been different for the Panthers had Horn played all season?
Probably not given their problems on the offensive side of the football.
However, seeing Horn as part of a cornerback unit that might also consist of All-Pro Stephon Gilmore is a mouth-watering proposition providing the veteran is extended.
Perhaps the Panthers should have taken a quarterback or even a stud left tackle with their first-rounder. But that does not detract from what a special talent Horn is and the sooner he’s back and firing on all cylinders, the better Carolina’s chances will be.
