Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers RB

Chuba Hubbard had a pretty nondescript outing at the Buffalo Bills, rushing eight times for 40 yards and 5.10 fantasy points. Essentially getting lost in the shuffle of the run game with Cam Newton and Ameer Abdullah.

A preferred option in the passing game, it was a quietly productive day for Abdullah, who finished with 48 receiving yards, a touchdown, and a total of 15.50 fantasy points. Continuing his solid level of production after the Carolina Panthers claimed him off the waiver wire.

Start or Sit in Week 16?

SIT.

Like the quarterback position, Carolina’s backfield is a little too unpredictable with Hubbard, Newton, and Abdullah sharing the load.

The Oklahoma State product hasn’t had a double-digit fantasy game in his three starts since Christian McCaffrey was placed on season-ending injured/reserve. To make matters worse, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a top-three defense in rushing yards allowed and the 12th best in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

If you’ve got a better option than Hubbard, use them instead. However, with COVID significantly disrupting the fantasy playoffs, some might not have a choice.
