5 big talking points from the Panthers loss vs. Bucs in Week 16
By Luke Gray
Carolina Panthers fans have had enough
Yesterday was the conclusion of what’s been a torrid season supporting the Carolina Panthers. We saw a far from full Bank of America Stadium for the final home game of the campaign and those in attendance made their feelings perfectly clear.
When Matt Rhule sent Sam Darnold out after just two drives for starter Cam Newton the boos for the head coach were audible. Despite the head coach trying to deflect post-game saying the former New York Jets player showed “mental toughness” after being booed.
Rest assured, the boos were aimed at the head coach.
And later in the game during the third quarter chants to “fire Matt Rhule” rang around sections of the stadium. Fans are frankly tired of what they are seeing under the current coaching staff.

Rhule has alienated vast numbers of the fanbase with his actions this season. One only needs to hop into one of the now-infamous Panthers Town Hall spaces on Twitter on a Sunday night to see how fans feel about the head coach.
If David Tepper persists with the former Baylor man, then he should expect more empty seats and booing to come in 2022.
