Carolina Panthers are not a good football team

Things are not going well for the Carolina Panthers right now. They are in the midst of a complete capitulation after their 3-0 start, which stems from a lack of confidence, poor execution, and a coaching staff that is running out of ideas quickly.

In truth, the end of the season cannot come soon enough. The Panthers are officially out of playoff contention following the team’s Week 16 loss and whether they can salvage anything from a season that began so promisingly is highly debatable.

The pressure is on Matt Rhule, although the head coach stated in his Monday presser that owner David Tepper was incredibly supportive in a conversation following the defeat. Just how much can be taken from this remains to be seen, but if the former Baylor man does get a reprieve in 2022 it’s going to be on a really short leash.

There is too much talent on the Panthers for them to be underperforming like this. A revolving door at quarterback and dismal protection aren’t helping matters whatsoever, so prioritizing these two positional groups is of paramount importance this spring.

Rhule’s post-game statements that included Jay-Z and Fresh Prince references were bizarre, to say the least. There will come a time when the talk is cheap after laying out almost every excuse imaginable, and the NFL is always a results business when it’s all said and done.
