As the New Year approached, what things are Carolina Panthers fans hoping from an organization going through severe turmoil in 2022?

It’s been quite a dramatic year, to say the least. Not only across the globe in day-to-day life, but for those following the Carolina Panthers throughout a rollercoaster 2021.

A year that began with significant change at the quarterback position, failed bids for Deshaun Watson and Matthew Stafford that eventually led to Cam Newton’s return – ended on a sour note with defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and more questions than ever about the direction of the franchise.

Morale is low across the board. From the coaching staff, the players, and the fans, it’s seemingly going to take a long time to solve judging by the current state of affairs. So get set for more twists and turns during what’s sure to be a pivotal offseason period this spring.

However, a New Year brings new hope. Here are four things Carolina’s loyal fanbase is hoping for in 2022.

Competent coaching within the Carolina Panthers

Almost no in-game adjustments and a basic offensive scheme that gets figured out quickly are two primary reasons why the Carolina Panthers have flattered to deceive this season. Matt Rhule and his staff are coming under increased scrutiny for their methods and personnel evaluation – something that has to improve quickly providing the head coach gets a reprieve as expected this offseason.

Rhule stated following Carolina’s eighth reverse in 10 games that the process is “1,000 percent” working. Try telling that to the fans, analysts, or even former Panthers players such as Tre Boston and Jonathan Stewart who’ve voiced their displeasure.

This isn’t college anymore for Rhule. Further regression next time around would make his position untenable.
