Which college prospects should the Carolina Panthers have a close eye on when the long-awaited college football playoffs begin this weekend?

The college football playoffs get underway this weekend and the Carolina Panthers should have their sights firmly set on some exciting prospects that could come under consideration during the 2022 NFL Draft evaluation process. With nothing left to play for this season following a disastrous run of form for Matt Rhule’s men, the microscope is now well and truly on a pivotal offseason period that is sure to shape the long and short-term future of the franchise.

General manager Scott Fitterer was extremely active in his first draft after his arrival from the Seattle Seahawks. Something he might have to be again with the Panthers not possessing a Day 2 pick currently following the trades for Sam Darnold and C.J. Henderson.

The problem positions are evident to most on the outside looking in. But make no mistake, any more errors in judgment could come with some serious ramifications.

Without further ado, here are six prospects the Panthers should watch with a keen eye during the college football playoffs.

Prospect No. 1

Carolina Panthers

Jamaree Salyer – OL (Georgia)

The Carolina Panthers have some problems to fix on the offensive line. Only right tackle Taylor Moton is guaranteed a starting spot in 2022, with many offseason acquisitions failing to meet the required standard and folding like cheap suits when the pressure was on.

This is a positional group that’s been ignored for far too long. That’s why Jamaree Salyer is a player of note that Carolina must have their eye on during Georgia‘s game and throughout the assessment process.

Salyer lines up at left tackle for the Bulldogs but has the frame to suggest he could be a quality guard at the next level. Somewhere the Panthers need immediate assistance even if Deonte Brown brings his game on in the coming months.
