Marshon Lattimore – CB
The last time the Carolina Panthers faced the New Orleans Saints, they were lucky enough to not have to go against Marshon Lattimore, who was out with an injury.
This time around, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Lattimore will be on the field going up against Carolina receivers that will be adjusting to the return of Sam Darnold at quarterback.
Lattimore is undoubtedly one of the league’s best cornerbacks but he has shown signs of inconsistency. He started off the year hot, struggled for a few weeks and now he’s coming off a pretty solid game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.
The former Ohio State star and four-time Pro Bowler currently ranks third in the league with 19 passes defended and leads the team with three interceptions this season.
The ability of Lattimore is a big reason that New Orleans’ defense has played so well, and he should be feasting for the opportunity to face the struggling Panthers’ offense led by Darnold.
It remains to be seen how Darnold will perform in his first start back. But one thing is for sure, Lattimore has to be kept off his game to get any Carolina offense rolling.
