5 Saints players the Carolina Panthers must keep quiet in Week 17
By Jason Huber
Cameron Jordan – DE
We all know the threat that Cameron Jordan is, and he hasn’t slowed down very much in 2021.
Jordan was limited back in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, only racking up two tackles. But the offense is much worse than the one we saw then after some serious regression over the course of the campaign.
In 14 games, Jordan leads the New Orleans Saints with eight sacks for a loss of 46 yards, has defended four passes, compiled 18 quarterback hits, and forced two fumbles.
Even at 32 years old, Jordan has made New Orleans a scary defense and that comes at Carolina’s expense at least twice a year.
The Panthers’ offensive line continues to be atrocious and Jordan should have no problem at making easy work of it if they can’t put together a solid game. It seems likely that Carolina will have yet another starting combination across their protection this week due to injuries and COVID, so the defensive end will provide a tough test.
Unfortunately, Cam Newton won’t be starting. We all know the history between the former NFL MVP and Jordan, so that will be one of the unfortunate parts of Sunday’s matchup.
