Carolina Panthers fantasy football outlook for Week 17 at Saints
D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR
As mentioned earlier, D.J. Moore has been pretty reliable this season. He’s averaging 14.31 fantasy points per game in 2021 and is ranked No. 16 among all wideouts.
The fifth-year pass-catcher is only 59 yards away from his third straight 1,100-yard season. This is absolutely remarkable considering the revolving door and poor play from the quarterback position since he was drafted by the Carolina Panthers.
Start or Sit Week 17?
START.
Sam Darnold and Moore and a pretty good connection going through the air before the quarterback’s midseason implosion and eventual injury. The wideout should be a quality flex option as the New Orleans Saints have allowed 13 touchdowns to players at the position this season, which is ranked in the middle of the league along with passing yards allowed.
Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR
Robby Anderson had five catches and 58 yards which is modest production by most standards. However, that was the sixth-year wideout’s second-best receiving yards game of the season behind is 84 yards and one score effort against Atlanta Falcons.
It’s no secret that Anderson was one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy football this season. But he has put together better performances as of late after a terrible start.
Start or Sit Week 17?
SIT.
I don’t anticipate this Saints defense giving Darnold or Cam Newton – if he plays – much time to get lots of meaningful touches to Carolina’s group of pass-catchers.
Moore had a much better outing in the Week 2 matchup than his counterpart and I think that happens again in New Orleans.
