2 winners and 2 losers from Carolina Panthers’ loss at the Saints in Week 17
By Jason Huber
Who were the big winners and losers from the Carolina Panthers’ loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 17 of the 2021 season?
Rinse and repeat. Just another week and another loss for the Carolina Panthers thanks to a disastrous offense.
After beating the New Orleans Saints back in Week 3, this time around Sean Payton’s men got the best of Carolina.
The good thing? There’s only one game left before an offseason that will likely come with a lot of changes.
With Sam Darnold starting at quarterback for the first time in over a month and Cam Newton back on the bench, there were seemingly no different results as the Panthers are now 5-11 for the third-consecutive season.
Luckily, Carolina gets one more game to try and pick up a win next week at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it’s honestly better to lose for draft pick status.
The defense did play much better which is a positive after some poor performances by that unit in the past few weeks. But with this game very possible to win throughout, including the Panthers holding a 10-9 lead at halftime, this defeat is another tough one to swallow.
However, unlike some losses this season, there were some bright spots in addition to the poor ones. So, here are two winners and two losers from Sunday’s game.
