5 Carolina Panthers who are living on borrowed time

Matt Rhule – Carolina Panthers HC
The Process.
That’s what head coach Matt Rhule has preached is “1,000 percent” working despite the team’s obvious lack of progress in 2021. The former Baylor man’s methods and the fact he gets the final say on roster moves have piled the pressure on this season and although reports suggest Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper plans on giving him a third season, nobody can truly say for sure until the campaign concludes.
One doesn’t have to look far on social media to see what fans and former players think about Rhule. There was even a scathing article from Joe Person of The Athletic that blew the dam off Carolina’s current crisis.
Panthers football is so hard to watch right now. Morale is at an all-time low and this growing unrest is jeopardizing the short and long-term future of the franchise.
That’s the long and short of it, really.
Trusting Rhule to make the correct decisions in terms of personnel is one thing. But he is being outcoached constantly and failing to make the necessary in-game adjustments needed to put the Panthers in the best possible position to triumph.
Tepper placed all the faith in the world in Rhule to tempt him from college and outbid the New York Giants. However, this has not been repaid so far and whether the billionaire can swallow his pride and do what’s needed in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
