Haason Reddick – Carolina Panthers OLB

The thought of Haason Reddick playing his final game for the Carolina Panthers this weekend is unfathomable. His production since joining the team in free agency has been nothing short of exceptional and the organization should do everything in their power to keep the former first-round pick around when it’s time for negotiations to begin.

Reddick signed a one-year deal to link up once again with his former college coaches from Temple. This also allowed him to prove that his 12.5 sacks for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 were not a flash in the pan.

Mission accomplished.

The edge defender’s consistency this season has been a standout feature. Reddick already has 11 sacks, 65 tackles, 18 quarterback hits, 12 tackles for loss, and 33 pressures from 15 games, with the player considered unfortunate to only be named a Pro Bowl alternate after finishing first outside linebacker in the fan voting.

This has sent Reddick’s next deal through the roof. According to Spotrac, the player is set to make an annual salary of $15.3 million on a five-year, $76.8 million deal, which represents a problem for the Panthers considering their current situation.

If all else fails, there is always the franchise tag option. Something that wouldn’t sit too well with Reddick given what he’s given the team this season.

Reddick came off the COVID-19 list in plenty of time to feature at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fans can only hope it won’t be the last we see of him.
