3 reasons the Carolina Panthers could show interest in Baker Mayfield
By Nick Halden
Baker Mayfield is a realistic option for the Carolina Panthers
Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Deshaun Watson headline the quarterbacks who could move this offseason. Something that will put most of the NFL on red alert.
Rodgers’ future with the Green Bay Packers remains uncertain despite another stellar year. Wilson is the wildcard here as rumors have swirled around the Seattle Seahawks star quarterback over the last two seasons. Whether or not both parties go their separate ways is anyone’s guess.
The situation with Watson is very concerning when you’re dealing with a player who has faced the level of accusations he has. Any team acquiring the Houston Texans signal-caller is going to get a phenomenal player, but one who has a lot of red flags even if all of his legal issues are solved.
What all three of these quarterbacks have in common is their choice of landing spots. For the Carolina Panthers, this is bad news.
With the coaching issues and quarterback problems on full display and an offensive line that needs to be rebuilt, why would a veteran player choose Carolina?
The unfortunate answer for the Panthers is simple, they shouldn’t and they won’t. Carolina must take their chances with a lesser-tier quarterback and find another answer.

Baker Mayfield – if on the trade market – is the perfect fit. A quarterback who is certainly better than Sam Darnold and has a chance to steady a franchise that is a contending team if they can get the most important position right.
