4 bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers at Bucs in Week 18
By Dean Jones
Here are some bold predictions as the Carolina Panthers look to end their 2021 season on a high at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18.
For one last time this season, the Carolina Panthers will look to beat a major player in the Super Bowl race when they travel to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. These are two teams on different ends of the spectrum, with Matt Rhule’s men on the brink of their third-straight five win campaign and in order to avoid this, they’ll have to knock off the defending champions on the road.
There’s just no telling how this one is going to go. But the Panthers need to show some fight in pursuit of salvaging something from what’s been an absolute train wreck in 2021.
Tampa Bay might have one eye on next weekend’s playoff game. However, legendary quarterback Tom Brady won’t want his side heading into the postseason with a whimper and they’ll be looking to make a big statement against Carolina – a team they beat convincingly just a fortnight ago.
Without further ado, here are four bold predictions for the Panthers during their season finale at Raymond James Stadium.
Bold Prediction No. 1
Carolina Panthers OT Brady Christensen gives up zero pressures
It’s been highly encouraging to see Brady Christensen performing so well at the left tackle position. Something the Carolina Panthers should have done a long time ago.
Matt Rhule stated Christensen’s arm length remained the primary factor behind their reluctance to slot him onto the blindside. Yet another miscalculation when it comes to player evaluation at the next level.
Christensen has more than held his own against two stout defensive fronts over the last fortnight. Another strong outing at the Buccaneers could see him earn the job in 2022 and allow Carolina to focus their attention elsewhere this offseason.
The Panthers might not be keen on putting Christensen on the edge. But if he allows zero pressures at the Bucs, then the decision should be a simple one to make.
